Obsidian is a stone that is one of the essentials in the field of lithotherapy and esotericism. It is a mineral that is often used, but it is necessary to work with this semi-precious stone while paying attention to its strong energy.

Black obsidian, golden obsidian, snowflake obsidian, celestial eye obsidian, a wide choice is available to you. Choose the stone that appeals to you the most.

Obsidian is known to be a stone of protection. Its energy is quite powerful and therefore it is advisable to use it with great care.

Purification of Obsidian

How to purify Obsidian?

Different techniques for purifying are possible. Try them out and see which one suits you best.

Purification of Obsidian by fumigation

Personally, I love fumigating to purify my minerals. It’s a symbolic method I think.

For it :

• Bring a stick of Sage, Palo Santo, or incense.
• Light it, then carefully extinguish the flame.
• Pass your jewelry, bracelet, ring, tumbled stones, and rough stones through its smoke. Let this process work for a few minutes.
• Watch the smoke operate on your natural stone and take with it everything that is no longer needed.

Purification of Obsidian with a flower of life

As with fumigation, the flower of life is a method that can be applied to all your stones without exception! Which is quite handy.

For it :

• Provide yourself with a flower of life (copper, selenite, wood, according to your desires).
• Put your jewelry, your stones last several hours (one night seems very good to me).
• The sacred geometry of the flower of life will act in-depth on your minerals and purify them.

Purification of Obsidian with Selenite

And yes Selenite is a soft mineral which has the virtue of purifying all energies. Those of the body, of the spirit, in the environment, but also of the stones which are in contact with it.

For it :

• Bring a stone of Selenite, a bar or a plate.
• Place your crystals on it for several hours and let the magic happen.

Purification of Obsidian with water

Water is a technique that is not suitable for all crystals but for Obsidian no worries.

For it :

• Pass your stone under a trickle of fresh water (or demineralized water if you prefer).
• The movement of water on your natural stone will come and carry with it the energy that is no longer necessary for your crystal.
• You can do this for a few minutes. Some also let their minerals “soak” in water for a few hours. Be careful not to leave them too long.
• Always remember to wipe your mineral properly afterward.

Some stones are salt-loving, but here I don’t advise you to use salt or even salt water.

Whether you want to purify a jewel, a pearl bracelet, a necklace, a pendant, a ring or rather a rolled stone, a rough stone, a pendulum, or other Obsidian products, these methods are all usable.

Attention! On the other hand, if you use water, pay attention to what surrounds your stone (silver, gold, steel).

Once your stone is cleansed, and purified of all its impurities, you can move on to the second step, which is recharging the Obsidian. In this way, she will replenish her energy.

How to recharge Obsidian?

As with purification, there are several techniques to charge your stones. Do according to what you have on hand and what appeals to you the most.

Recharging Obsidian in the Sun

The sunbeam method is not compatible with all crystals, but for Obsidian it is perfect.

For it :

• Place your stone for a few hours in the light of the sun.
• However, make sure that the rays are not too strong and do not attack too much.
• Let the power of the sun operate.

Moon Obsidian Reload

The rays of the moon can act favorably on all natural stones, but it is true that some minerals are more sensitive to it than others.

For it :

• Place your stone in the light of the moon for a whole night.
• A full moon is best, as this is the time in the lunar cycle when the moon’s energy is strongest.
• Then retrieve your jewel or your stone full of energy.

Recharging Obsidian with Flower of Life

Recharging Obsidian with a Quartz Geode or Amethyst Geode

• Place your minerals on it for several hours.
